Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
Cinco Volcanes ("Cinco Volcanes," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at cincovolcanes.com (the "Site") and provides guided mountaineering expeditions in Mexico, information about the Cinco Volcanes Challenge, and adventure gear and apparel (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
By using the Site or booking a Cinco Volcanes expedition, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly, such as when you fill out a form, book an expedition, or contact us:
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Mailing/billing address
- Preferred expedition dates, volcano(es) of interest, and group size (inquiry forms)
- Payment information when you make a purchase or reservation (processed by our payment processor — see Section 4; we do not store full card numbers ourselves)
- Liability waiver and assumption-of-risk information, including your signature, emergency contact details, and medical fitness disclosures you provide before an expedition
- Any other information you choose to share with us, including through customer support, coaching, or community features
Information collected automatically, such as when you browse the Site:
- Device and browser information, IP address, and general location
- Pages visited, referring URLs, and how you interact with the Site
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)
Information from third parties, such as our website and course platform provider (Kajabi) and payment processors, who may share transaction confirmations, delivery status, or account information with us.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process bookings, reservations, and purchases (expeditions and gear/apparel)
- Communicate with you about your expedition — itineraries, logistics, safety information, and required documentation like the liability waiver
- Respond to inquiries and provide customer support
- Coordinate with expedition guides and local operators to plan trips and respond to emergencies, including sharing relevant medical or emergency-contact information when necessary for your safety during an expedition
- Send marketing communications, such as newsletters and expedition announcements (you can opt out at any time — see Section 7)
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our Services
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and waivers
We do not use your medical fitness disclosures or emergency contact information for marketing purposes. That information is used only for trip safety and planning.
3. Legal Basis and Sensitive Information
Some of what we collect for expedition participation — such as medical fitness disclosures — is sensitive. We collect it only because it is necessary to plan safely for high-altitude mountaineering and to respond to emergencies, we limit access to it to the people involved in running your expedition (and emergency responders if needed), and we do not sell it or use it for advertising.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With our service providers, including Kajabi (which hosts the Site, processes course/community features, and sends emails on our behalf) and payment processors that handle transactions
- With expedition guides, local operators, and emergency services in Mexico and elsewhere, as needed to run your expedition safely
- As required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cinco Volcanes, our customers, or others
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality obligations
5. International Travel and Data Transfer
Cinco Volcanes is based in the United States. Our expeditions take place in Mexico, so information you provide (including waiver, emergency contact, and logistics information) may be shared with guides and operators there for the purpose of running your trip.
6. Cookies and Analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies provided by our platform, Kajabi, to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Site is used. We also use:
- Google Analytics, to help us understand how visitors use the Site (such as pages viewed and general location); and
- Meta Pixel, to help us measure and improve the performance of our Facebook and Instagram advertising, and to show you more relevant ads on those platforms.
These tools may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your browsing activity on the Site. You can opt out of Google Analytics using tools such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and you can control how Meta uses your data for ads through your Facebook ad preferences. You can also control cookies generally through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the Site functions.
7. Your Choices
- Marketing emails: You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us directly.
- Access, correction, or deletion: You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us at the address in Section 11.
- California residents: If you are a California resident, you have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion or correction, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.
We will respond to verifiable requests within the time required by applicable law.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, satisfy the purposes described in this policy, and meet our legal, tax, and insurance obligations (for example, retaining signed waivers and emergency contact information for the period required for liability purposes).
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, including relying on Kajabi’s platform security and our payment processor’s security standards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site and our Services are not directed to children, and Cinco Volcanes expeditions require participants to be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise any of the rights described above, contact us at:

12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
13. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
This Privacy Policy was drafted as a starting point for the Cinco Volcanes website and has not been reviewed by an attorney. Given that Cinco Volcanes collects health-adjacent information (medical fitness disclosures) and serves customers who may live outside California or the U.S., we recommend having it reviewed by a licensed attorney familiar with U.S. privacy law (CCPA/CPRA) before relying on it, and by someone familiar with Mexican data protection law given that expeditions take place there.
